Author's Journey Week Two & Three: Random Thoughts

As I sit at my desk looking down at my pad mulling over what I want to write, I can’t help but think about a million different things at once. I would be lying if I said this pandemic doesn’t worry me, because just like so many others I’ve seen this horrible virus affect both those I love and people I barely know, and the pain doesn’t hurt any less. You want to do something to make the ones affected feel better, but what can you do but give some encouraging words and pray things will get better and even those seem hal-hearted. That’s why I might seem cheerful or optimistic through all of this. It’s not that I don’t know what’s going on. It’s just the only thing I can do is help distract some people from everything that’s going on.

Anyway, in light of everything going on in the world, I still have to focus on my day to day life. Since starting my new publishing company, I cannot stop thinking about all the things I still have to do before it can be fully set up. Starting a new business is hard, mostly because all the time I spend tending to the business aspects of my publishing company take away from the time I spend writing.

But, I’m learning to balance everything out and make it work so I can publish Eyes this summer - I guess this is one of the great things about being a Libra. I know my advance readers have been patiently waiting, and I want to thank you for your patience and support. I really wouldn’t have the strength to do this without you and all my readers. 💜

And even so, learning to reorganize my life and using the time I take on walks to sort through my mind or just catch up with my friends I go to just to help me sort through my jumbled mess of a mind, helped me greatly to stay on track and breakdown any problems I might have had. I’ve focused on living a healthier life while balancing my new entrepreneurial life. I’m learning new methods to help maintain my new hectic life each day. And hopefully, as time passes, things will get easier as my company and team grows.

These weeks have been packed with different lessons that have made me stronger and helped me mature more as a budding business owner. I’ve been working with some talented individuals to help make my next book, Eyes, shine. Since it will be the first book to be published by my company, Lilyan Margaret Publishing, I want it to highlight our potential and show that we can be just as good as already established indie publishers.

Well, I guess that’s a little wishful thinking. But who knows? I believe nothing is impossible.

I hope all of you had a wonderful weekend, and Happy Memorial Day to all my American readers.

Thanks so much for reading.

Stay safe and well.

Always Thinking About You,

Imania Margria
